We were requested the remodeling and expansion of a house in the neighborhood called Faro Punta Mogotes, located in front of the forest reserve close to the south beaches in the city of Mar del Plata.

The new program required the construction of an en suite master bedroom and a garage for two cars, kayaks and a great amount of tools and, lastly, the expansion and remodeling of the existing house.

The house, with a free perimeter and built 1,50 meters up the street level, lacked the necessary urban connections for an adequate pedestrian and vehicular link. The planning of the new garage had to ensure and promote those new links.

We projected a house system organized through split levels connected by a powerful vertical core which allows the union of the three main elements of the construction. The first one consists of the garage made of exposed brick with an accessible roof of reinforced concrete as a base; the second one includes the original house with white exposed brick and colonial clay roof tiles; and lastly, with the bedroom as the main character, an abstract volume which seeks to penetrate into the forest reserve accompanied by the magnificent tree that has the leading role in the scene.
