We were asked to remodel and expand the gas station located in between the cities of Balcarce and Tandil, close to the bridge which allows the fork of National route 226. All the facilities (bathrooms, warehouse, cafe, kitchen, minimarket and customer service area) needed to be remodel and expanded.

The morphology of the existing building, formed by the addition of hexagons of different sizes, determined a rigid and close building system.

The program required the planning of a cafe with a large minimarket consistent with the typology of the current gas stations which have completely glazed sale places. We needed to break the rigid wall structure.

Thus, we projected a large room free from the original morphological scheme and which could be combined with the old building. We kept characteristics only through formal gestures which complied with the first format.

This new and large room, completely glazed, was now consistent with the new concept of gas stations.

There was a time when its exterior and some of its interiors were covered with white, beige and brown tiles; in some places they were kept thanks to the little maintenance they required. The bathrooms, which were completely reformed, were covered with brown vitreous plates.

The new sights to the field and route took the station to a new level.
