ARCHITECTURAL OFFICE

Covered surface: 53 m2
The interior and part of the exterior of the fourth floor of a downtown building with ample views of the city and its mountains used as a laundry room and barbecue area was remodeled to set up our architectural office. A sole workplace was created, recovering to the most what was already built to save expenses and thus to take advantage of the available resources. For example, the huge wood grill was transformed into a fireplace whose fire symbolized the heat of the creative moment. For this reason it was important that the height of the wood was the same as the height of the work tables.
The emphasis was on shapes, colors and textures. It all had to be simple, austere and vital.
Local materials were mainly used, this explains the use of calcareous coverings in floors and granite mosaics in stairs and halls fabricated by local craftsmen.
The architecture of the office, with simple finishing, intense colors and textured plasters, made reference to Ricardo Legorreta architecture, master of the first steps.
